Great for Runners of all abilities

Maybe you want to start running, maybe you already run on your own or with a friend. Whatever your running background you can benefit from our Running Club Sessions. Apart from the social aspect and friendly encouragement that comes with training in a group environment you will benefit from a varied running specific workout.

It goes without saying that running will be integral to the sessions but they are not simply guided runs. The training will focus on strengthening the key muscles involved in running, as well as ensuring you train your different energy systems for improved performance and recovery. Our sessions focus on running specific exercises and incorporate different training methodologies to improve running economy, increase aerobic endurance, improve muscular endurance & target specific movement Patterns.

So what Is Involved?
Our weekly class will give you a 1 hour workout that includes a warm up and warm down element with suitable stretching in each section, to reduce risk of injury and improve flexibility. So whether youre new to running and want to get started, a seasoned runner hoping to improve your PBs or somewhere in between the two, then this group is for you

Water will be provided and water breaks are designed into each session.

Training will take place irrespective of the weather, thats half the fun and for me personally I much prefer a cooling shower and breeze in ever changing outdoor surroundings to a repetitive treadmill staring endlessly at the same fixed view. Oh and PS if you can comfortably read a magazine or watch TV whilst supposedly exercising then I challenge whether you'r actually doing yourself any good. Plus, dont worry we dont get a kick out of deliberately targeting you to crawl through puddles of mud. Our intention is to give you an effective workout that you enjoy so much you want to not only keep coming back but also to tell your friends about it.

Please wear suitable clothing, any normal workout gear which allows comfortable ease of movement will do: sweatshirts, T-shirts, shorts, tracksuit bottoms, leggings, vests, trainers and socks. Ideally choose clothes that you can wear in layers, as once you warm up throughout a session you may want to remove a layer. Ultimately it comes down to what you feel comfortable in both physically and psychologically.

I would suggest getting a decent pair of running specific trainers, any good running store will be able to provide a free gait analysis and suggest appropriate footwear bespoke to your foot type (over-pronater, under-pronater etc)
